Joined SSG on the first day, 11 Nov 1964. Roll No. 17 , Chilarai House. Joined NDA in Jan 1969. Commissioned as fighter pilot in IAF on 02 Jun 1973. Flew nearly 3000 hours on fighters like Gnat, Hunter and MiG-21s. Commanded a MiG-21 Squadron and a radar unit. Took premature retirement from IAF in May 2004. Was briefly employed in corporate sector , Hindustan Lever Ltd, at Doomdooma. Started on my own a Security Agency in 2007 with registered office at Guwahati. Lately taken to water colour painting and enjoy playing golf.
