ANNUAL ACADEMIC DAY: 2010-11

Annual Academic Day celebrations of Sainik School Goalpara were solemnised on 11 Dec 2010 at the school auditorium. Hafiz Bashir Ahmed Qasimi, MLA, Bilasipara (west) was the chief guest on the occasion. Capt (Indian Navy) Sanjay Nirmal, Principal welcomed the chief guest and presented the Annual School Report. At the outset, He thanked Markazul Ma’arif , Hajoi, Naogaon under the chairmanship of Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, Hon’ble MP Dhubri for presenting 12 computers to Sainik School Goalpara to boost computer education in the region, the organization is involved in social service to the community especially for needy and economically week sections of the society. Highlighting the achievement during the Academic Session , the Principal said that the school had successfully implemented the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation(CCE) introduced by the CBSE. He also highlighted NDA result and various activities conducted under NCC. This year 08 cadets received Cadets Welfare Scheme Scholarship of Rs 6000.00 each for their outstanding performance. Cadet Nanhen Gaurav second in the history of the school was awarded the prestigious ‘Bir Chilarai Award” by the Assam Gove. He was presented the award on 15 August 2010 by Shri Bhumidhar Burman, Revenue Minister, Assam . The Award comprises cash prize of Rs 25,000.00 , a citation and a medal. Two cadets have already visited Foreign countries under the Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) of NCC. Cadet Bijit Saha, the present school capt has also been shortlisted to visit another foreign country under the YEP. The school conducted educational tours for all the cadets at various Defence Institutions including national Defence Academy. The Principal also highlighted the achievements and infrastructure developments brought about in the school for the past three years.
The Chief Guest, addressing the gathering, congratulated the prize winners and commended the cadets for their excellent performance and high sense of discipline. He also expressed his contentment over the crucial role played by Sainik School Goalpara in providing quality education and comfortable living environment to its students and shaping them well into responsible citizens of the country and appreciated the unremitting contribution of the school towards sending a large number of boys to Defence Forces. He was, indeed, delighted to see the facilities provided to the cadets in the campus. He also said that he was aware of the problems faced by the school due to its remote location and assured of his unstinting support for all round development of the school.
