Dear Members,
You may be aware that the 14th Annual General Meeting of Old Boys Association, Sainik School Goalpara (AGM of OBASSG) has been scheduled on 12th Feb 2012, Sunday at Silpgram, Guwahati.

As per as the decision adopted in the last Executive Meeting of the OBA SSG held on 22nd Sept 2011 at Hotel Ambarish, Guwahati the Chief Convenors of Bridge 2012 and Members Address Book 2012 has been entrusted to Gp Cpt (Retd) Debananda Gohain, Roll No 17 and Col (Retd) Pankaj Rajkhowa, Roll No 2, respectively.

Dr Indira Goswami, popularly known as Dr Mamoni Raisom Goswami has left us for heavenly abode today .i.e 29th Nov 2011 at 7.45 hours. Mamoni Baideu's tenure at school as a teacher was from 19th July 1967 to 24th July 1969. OBA SSG family remembers her contribution in shaping the future of many young cadets during her stay at school as a teacher.

OBA SSG prays to the almighty for her eternal peace.

I had the opportunity of having B.C Das Sir, as a housemaster, teacher and also as a mentor for dramatics. His composition of Assamese dramas and his passionate direction for perfection was the hallmark of his personality.The dramas written by him which is also performed in various mobile theatres in Assam will reverberate his creative insights and shall make him immortal.A grand salute to this eternal soul.

Friends, I have good news for all of us…

One of our most energetic seniors, Ratul Kalita (Roll No 1148) is being conferred two prestigious awards on the 27th of November, 2011, by The Friendship Forum of India (FFI), a well-known social and voluntary forum working for the past many years in the service of our nation and countrymen, at the India International Center in New Delhi:

Respected members, 3 SSGians have done it again. 3 cadets of SSG namely, Shri Jyotrimoi Boro, 4504, Lachit, Anujpal Deka, 4507, Udaygiri & R Sahil, 4987, Udaygiri has been selected to join 127 Course of NDA. Their respective rank in merit are 80, 223 & 106. Congratulation to all three of them from OBA SSG family. You all made us feel proud. Wish you success in every step you put forward. Our beloved Mr. B C Das sir have left us for heavenly abode, few minutes ago. He was undergoing treatment at Down Town Hospital. We offer our deepest condolences to the family. May the soul of B C Das sir attain peace.
