AIM AND OBJECTIVE

Old Boys Association, Sainik School’s primary objectives are:

  • To bring all the ex-students of Sainik School Goalpara under one for mutual help and spreading brotherhood.
  • To act as effective social organization.
  • To help the people in times of disaster and natural calamities.
  • The old boys Association will also work for overall well being of Sainik School.
  • To work for unity and development of the nation and north east in particular.
  • The Association may takes up any other social cultural activity which confirm to the overall activity.

PRESS RELEASE

The 23rd Annual General Meeting of Old Boys Association Sainik School Goalpara (OBASSG) was held on Saturday, 27 November 2021 at Narangi Officers’ Institute, Guwahati. Shri JishnuBarua, IAS, Chief Secretary, Assam attended the inaugural session as the Chief Guest while Capt (IN) A Muthuraman, Principal, Sainik School Goalpara was the Guest of Honour. On the occasion, Bridge, the annual commemorative souvenir of OBASSG was released by the Chief Guest. Three new life members were also felicitated by the Chief Guest and the President, OBASSG with memento, I card and badge. The General Secretary, Abhigyan Prasad, in his annual report, highlighted the activities as well as working with some others in the government. He also referred to some outstanding characteristics of the old boys. In his speech, the Principal of SSG highlighted the progress of the school, referring especially to the entry of ten girl cadets this year. The inaugural session ended with vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Jyotirmoy Sarma.
In the post inaugural session, the audited financial accounts were presented by the Treasurer. The House adopted the reports of the GS and the Secretary. In the Open Session, members took part in discussions on various issues. It was followed by the resignation of the existing committee and the election of the new EC. Brig RanjitBorthakur (Retd) and JagadishNath were elected unopposed as the President and the Gerneral Secretary respectively. The vote of thanks for the AGM was delivered by the General Secretary, Abhigyan Prasad. The meeting ended with the singing of the national anthem.
In the evening there was cultural nite performed by professional artists. Members along with their families took part in the evening at the same venue and had dinner of the Association during the last year.
