Air Marshal Anjan Kumar Gogoi, Roll No 9 and a member of OBA, has been awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal on the occasion of Republic day 2012 for his distinguished service to the nation.

Bestowed the highest peace time award for rendering service of the most exceptional order, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of South Western Air Command was born at Dibrugarh in upper Assam.

Eldest son of former Chief Minister Keshab Chandra Gogoi, Air Marshal Gogoi was the first batch of students in Sainik School Goalpara in the state in 1964.

You may be aware that the 14th Annual General Meeting of Old Boys Association, Sainik School Goalpara (AGM of OBASSG) has been scheduled on 12th Feb 2012, Sunday at Silpgram, Guwahati.

As per as the decision adopted in the last Executive Meeting of the OBA SSG held on 22nd Sept 2011 at Hotel Ambarish, Guwahati the Chief Convenors of Bridge 2012 and Members Address Book 2012 has been entrusted to Gp Cpt (Retd) Debananda Gohain, Roll No 17 and Col (Retd) Pankaj Rajkhowa, Roll No 2, respectively.

Diwali Greetings to you all.

The Executive Meeting held on 22nd Oct 2011 at Guwahati has decided to hold the 14th AGM of OBA SSG on 12th Feb 2012.

14th AGM is significant in lot many ways. There will be selection and formation of New Committee for next 2 years. Major decisions will come up related to Golden Jubilee Celebration of SSG in 2014.

All are requested to mark their calender to make it to the event. Keeping everyone's interest, next AGM is scheduled on a Sunday so that everyone can turn up.

As many of you may be aware, there are two crucial projects the OBASSG is planning to undertake as part of our contribution to our school’s Golden Jubilee celebrations:

(1) Construction of a Memorial Hut – much like a war memorial (though not exactly one), the nature of which is yet to be decided. A sub committee will be formed for this project, which along with the school authorities will be responsible for finalization of the design and commissioning of the project. So, look out for communication on this shortly.
